Power Poppy ~~~ Power and Spark Mix and Match Challenge August, 2017

For the "Mix and Match" Challenge, I used stamps from three different sets.
The Greek letters spelling "opa" is a phrase we Greeks use to express delight.
Over the years I have been fortunate enough to acquire a small collection of very hard to find Greek stamps. And of course, the card was made with the colours of the Greek Flag.  OPA!!

Power Poppy ~~ Power And Spark Challenge ~~ July 2017

Made for the "Copy A Bloomie" Challenge for July, 2017.
The inspiration for my card came from Cindy Lawrence with the "Wreath: Boxwood and Cranberry" card she made.
I loved everything about her design and wanted to copy it, yet make it my own for the challenge.
In order to give texture to the white cardstock, I adhered a piece of clear, patterned acetate instead of embossing. I used washi tape for the very first time, but also added ribbon atop for more colour and texture.
Finishing touch, three tiny Ladybugs I found in my stash.
The stamp I used is from Marcella Hawley's "From the Garden" set released in 2010.

Here is my card.

Gatefold Window Card

This is a "Gatefold Window" card. I used three patterned papers for it to also be eligible in this month's STVKC in the Stamp Kit Addicts Group.
The trees from the "Sparkling Christmas" kit were stamped, fussy cut and patina glitter was added to them. The house and sentiment are from the "Home for the Holidays" kit.
I used three coordinating papers. First on the outside flaps, a second on the inside flaps and the third is a very subtle striped paper behind the house. Because the inside flap papers were not visable, I used a fourth on the roof and awnings. To do this, I stamped the house again on a green gingham patterned paper, then fussy cut the roof and awnings and adhered them onto the house image.
To give some interest to the sentiment. I punched out holly leaves and berries and tucked them under the sentiment.
A little glitter on the holly berries and smoke from the chimney finished this off.

Merry Christmas

Power Poppy "Hues to Use" Challenge

This challenge was to make a card using only three colours ~~ red, white and black.
I really layered this one up to emphasize each colour equally.

Positive/Negative Technique

For this technique, first I stamped the large Daisy image in yellow onto white cardstock. Then I restamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white powder onto yellow cardstock.
Next, I cut each Daisy image in half and matched one positive and one negative together. I cut two large circles of each white and yellow, cut them in half and mounted the Daisy, again, on positive/negative sides.
Finished the card by mounting onto PP and green then yellow cardstock. Added a sentiment and some pearls to finish it off.

STVKC#29 ~~ "Adhesive Free Challenge"~~

~~Adhesive Free Challenge~~

This was indeed a challenge in every sense of the word. I had to really think about this one as I love to have lots and lots of layers on my cards.
First stamped background on card layer, then cut an oval for another layer and stamped it as well.
Then stamped the Maple Leaf and fussy cut it. I then touched up all the leaves by blending in some colours with my Spectrum Noir markers.
To fasten the string, I punched two holes behind the oval layer and wove the string through it to secure.
I then used a small clothespin to attach another leaf to the string. To give the attached leaf some texture, I curled the edges up, then added a little bit of Wink of Stella for some glam.
Because I had to be exact with stamping my sentiment (no hiding mistakes under a popped up redo) I had to dig out my trusty "Stampamajig" and line it up with precision. What a great tool that is!
